19-year-old arrested in deadly Riverside house party stabbing

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Southern California authorities announced the arrest of a suspect after a teen was killed obeying a stabbing at a house party in Riverside over the weekend. 

Alexandro Romero, 19, has been identified as a suspect monitoring a deadly stabbing at a house party in Riverside.

The Riverside Police Department said 19-year-old Alexandro Romero, of Eastvale, has been arrested in the study. Department officials added the name of the victim will not be released because he was 17 years old.

Officers were called to a dwelling located in the 3400 block of Gay Way, located near the intersection of Jefferson Street and Indiana Avenue, around 12:20 a.m. Sunday following complaints about a house party.

Once they arrived at the scene, they were notified about two stabbings. 

Officers immediately administered CPR to one victim who was later declared dead at the scene. The second stabbing victim was taken to the hospital with what officials called a non-life-threatening injury.

An investigation is underway after two teens were stabbed – one fatally – at a dwelling party in Riverside.

The Riverside Police Department said it received a call of a noise complaint around 12:20 a.m. Sunday and responded to a dwelling on the 3400 block of Gay Way. After the party was lock down, officers were notified of two teenagers who had been stabbed.

One of the teens died at the scene and the other was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to Riverside police, another teenager was treated by paramedics at a home in the same neighborhood. Authorities did not disclose what injuries that teenager had, but they believe he may have been committed in the stabbing.

That teenager was detained for questioning, the Riverside Police Department said.

The name of the teen who was killed has not been released. Details on what led up to the stabbing were not immediately clear.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - What started as a property party complaint in Riverside led to the discovery of two teens who had been stabbed, authorities said. 

Officers with the Riverside Police Department were called to a house located in the 3400 block of Gay Way, located near the intersection of Jefferson Road and Indiana Route, around 12:20 a.m. Sunday. Arriving officers were notified about two stabbings. 

They immediately administered CPR to one victim who was later declared dead at the scene. The second stabbing victim was taken to the hospital with what officials said was a non-life-threatening injury.

While at the scene, officers were notified of another teen who had been injured in the same neighborhood. Investigators later discovered they were deeply interested in the stabbing, and they were subsequently arrested.

A man once convicted of an anti-gay hate crime in the Loop is among three occupants of a stolen car who were arrested in Boystown this week, according to police and court records.

Around 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, police spotted the stolen 2011 Chevy Impala heading south on Halsted Avenue in Boystown. Officers followed the vehicle until backup units arrived and the car was pulled over in the 3400 block of North Broadway a few minutes later.

The car’s three occupants were arrested and charged with a variety of crimes, according to a police spokesperson:

• Mack Heard, 24, of the 700 block of East 73rd Street was charged with felony receiving-possessing a stolen motor vehicle; misdemeanor driving without ever entity issued a license, and carrying reveal alcohol while driving.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- Two teenagers were stabbed, one of them fatally, during a party in Riverside early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a complaint of a loud party in the 3400 block of Gay Way around 12:20 a.m., according to the Riverside Police Department.

When they arrived at the scene, where the party was already in the process of shutting down, they found two teen boys suffering from stab wounds. One of them died at the scene and another was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening stab wound.

Less than half an hour later, police learned of a third teenager who had also been taken to the hospital with an unspecified injury. Authorities determined that the teen was possibly involved in the stabbing and was detained.

Police don't believe anybody else was involved. All of them were described as being of elevated school age.

Additional details about what led up to the stabbing were not available.
