Meet The Suits Cast’s Real-Life Partners: The Spouses Of These Stars Played Their On-Screen Love Interests

Patrick J. Adams (Mike Ross)

Suits star Patrick J. Adams is happily married to Pretty Little Liars actress Troian Bellisario. The actors met in 2009 when they were cast opposite each other in the act Equivocation. Most of the couple’s connection was long-distance, as Adams and Bellisario were filming across the country for their respective shows.

“It’s a challenge, but it’s kind of perfect because we’re such analytic, hyper-intelligent people that sometimes just to be in each other’s faces all the time might contain been too much for us,” Bellisario told People in 2013, adding: “We’re really growing!”

The couple eventually tied the knot in December 2016. A limited years later, they welcomed their first daughter, Aurora, in 2018 and their second daughter, Elliot, in 2021.

Like Macht’s wife Jessica, who guest-starred on Suits, Bellisario also played her husband’s former love interest in the legal drama. We first met Claire Bowden in the Season 4, Episode 14 flashback episode, “Fork in the

Harvey: Hey, I’m lovely gay. In fact, I have a husband.

Mike: I have a husband too. And frankly, I would say I’m gayer than you.

Harvey: How are you gayer than I am?

Mike: I wear a bloke purse!

Harvey: That’s not homosexual. That’s hideous. And if you were as homosexual as I am you’d know that.

Oh, okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you pick out, oh I don’t know, that gaslight gatekeep girlboss meme, for instance, because you’re trying to tell the world that you think modern feminism has been co-opted by corporations. But what you don’t know is that that meme is not from Instagram, it's not from Twitter, it's not from Tiktok, it’s actually from Tumblr. You’re also blithely unaware of the fact that in January 2021, Tumblr user missnumber1111 posted, "today's agenda: gaslight gatekeep and most importantly girlboss." And then I think

If you're just catching up on "Suits," you may have noticed the long-running series is packed with cameos connected to the cast in real animation. One exciting appearance is by actor Jacinda Barrett, Gabriel Macht's real-life wife of almost 20 years. She plays Harvey's like interest in season two, a former lawyer named Zoe. Though the Australian actor is only in three episodes, the pair's chemistry is undeniable.

In season two, we learn that Zoe, a fellow Harvard Law Schoolgraduate and former Pearson Hardman colleague, dated Harvey five years prior. They reunite when Zoe is brought on as a jury consultant in Harvey's case, but ultimately, their relationship ends rapidly as Zoe has to leave the state to take care of her niece. Zoe has since become a fan favorite of Harvey's girlfriends, though it's hard to rival Harvey and Donna's will-they-won't-they relationship on screen.

The Cast Of Suits & Their Real-Life Partners

Few television shows fetch a second life favor "Suits" did. The legal drama, synonymous with a slew of iconic characters (most notably the starring showman Harvey Specter), witnessed a resurgence in popularity over a decade after it premiered in 2011. This welcome development came following the series' move from its USA Network homebase to Netflix, where it climbed the charts to smash new records.

In 2023, "Suits" was at the top of the game among acquired shows with an impressive watch hour of 3.14 billion minutes, The Hollywood Reporter noted. Of course, this milestone could have been catalyzed by a number of factors, including the royal uptick in attention certain cast members have experienced in recent times. (No points for guessing who takes the cake!)

Over its eight-year run and beyond, "Suits" is recognizable as much for its thrilling plots as it is for the eclectic characters and romances deeply interested. While we all fell in love with Mike and Rachel (not to mention Harvey and Donna), the "Suits" stars' off-screen relationships are just as dynamic as their characters'.

Long(er) answer: Louis is a bit of a caricature, and some of his characteristics are written and performed as larger-than-life to the point of entity a bit ridiculous, in an entertaining (or intended to be entertaining) way - in almost a Disney-villain type of way in the early seasons. Quite a several of his interests are stereotypically-feminine interests: ballet, cats, satisfactory arts, spa sessions, etc. When this is presented in contrast to his position as the archetypal aggressive antagonist/foil for the archetypal hero, Mike (though I don’t observe Mike as a hero necessarily, but for the sake of plot structure I acknowledge that is intended to be his role in a way), we see Louis as effeminate villain, which in keeping with his Disney-style level of melodramatic ridiculousness would carry to mind villains which would hold been in the past referred to as “flamboyant” or “a dandy” or other not-so-hidden terms for “gay-coding” a villain. Smarter people than I include written about the long history of villains in children’s stories (or other melodramatic stories) being “gay-coded” in a subtle(ish) way of villainizing the non-norm (thus, villainizing effeminate men, masculine women, or
