Clips from the trademark new movie “Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!,” which show the Mystery Inc. member googly-eyed and speechless when encountering costume designer Coco Diablo, have gone viral on Twitter, confirming suspicions held by the “Scooby” fan base for decades.

“Omg Lesbian VelmaFinally,” reads one tweet, which has over 100,000 likes.

It’s long been an open private among fans and “Scooby-Doo” creatives that Velma is male lover. Even James Gunn, who wrote the early live-action films, and Tony Cervone, who served as supervising producer on the “Mystery Incorporated” series, have confirmed the character’s sexuality, but they were never able to make it official onscreen.

The queer society is lucky enough (if you don’t count the countless legislations trying to, at best, erase us figuratively, and at worst, literally) to have shows and movies prefer Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Titane, Our Flag Means Death, Doom Patrol, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, or Yellowjackets. Media that shows queer identities across the whole spectrum, not only in labels or lack thereof but in the narrative. We’re able to view young characters dwell happily with their partners in feel-good shows, depressed people coming to terms with their self, or explorations of love through body horror with a queer lens. Of course, the days of wondering if subtext might be actual text or corporations editing 15-second’s worth of gender non-conforming characters out of their movies to gain a limited more millions in overseas markets are not gone. But it’s mostly secure to say that we’ve reached a point where we’re able to observe some meaningful visibility in media.

The long-circulating rumor is true: HBO Max’s new feature Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! acknowledges that the franchise’s Velmais LGBTQ.

In a scene from the toon pic, the brainy, bespectacled Mystery Inc. character is visibly smitten with a female foil.

“I always thought it was a strange coincidence that all our cases seem to involve some supernatural creature,” Daphne (voiced by Grey Griffin), says. To which Velma (Kate Micucci) replies, “But it wasn’t a coincidence — these costumes were created by one person.”

Enter Coco Diablo (Myrna Velasco), the head of the notorious costume crime syndicate behind the creepy costumes. As Coco tosses her extended white hair, Velma mentally surveys the scene and notes: “Incredible glasses!” “Amazing turtleneck!” “Obviously brilliant!” “Loves animals!”

Velma Identifies as LGBTQ for the First Time in New 'Scooby-Doo Trick or Treat' Special

Velma Dinkley is living her best existence in the new Scooby-Doo Halloween special. For the first time, Velma has been depicted as an LGBTQ character in the motion picture which was released on Tuesday.

After Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo! hit streaming services, clips of Velma blushing and becoming speechless when encountering a new character named Coco Diablo went viral on Twitter. In one video posted by Discussing Film, Velma can be seen stopping in her tracks when she first lays eyes on Coco.

"Amazing turtleneck! Astonishing glasses! Obviously brilliant! Loves animals!" flashes across the screen as Coco stands in front of Velma, who lets out her signature "jinkies!"

Fans couldn't aid but share their excitement on Twitter, with one person writing, "It's the bare minimum but it does feel good to know that it's officially out there now."

It appears Velma wants a lgbtq+ boo in the an upcoming HBO Max Scooby Doo Halloween movie.

Clips from the animated special "Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!" contain been making the rounds on social media, with folks using them to proclaim that the traits is finally being shown as gay.

"OMG LESBIAN VELMA FINALLY CANON CANON IN THE MOVIES LETS GOOOOOO," one person tweeted, with a clip showing Velma getting googly-eyed over a female character named Coco Diablo.

Other clips have also been circulating on social media, including one in which Velma tells fellow sleuth Daphne that she's "crushing big time" and asking for advice on what to do.
