LGBTQ+ Festivals & Events
Attending an LGBTQ+ festival or event is a great way to celebrate as a community even outside of pride season. Whether it's music, art, food, sports or dance as the theme, our voice and presence as an Gay community is stronger when we come together.
What Thoughtful of LGBTQ+ Events Will I Find Here?
We compiled a global calendar of festivals and events around the world that possess an LGBTQ+ theme but are not specifically identity festival events. Since pride events are so common and numerous, we've created a completely separate calendar including hundreds of events around the world—click here to view our Gay Self-acceptance Calendar. The events on this list include a variety of festivals, gatherings or events with diverse themes ranging from harmony, art, food, sports, move, advocacy, comedy and more. While each event may be different, the ordinary thread that binds all these together events is the celebration within the LGBTQ+ community.
How to Exploit This List
We have published this calendar to advise the LGBTQ+ community of important festivals and events globally to offer a complete source for planning your travel. This event calendar includes more than 1

Note: Traveling as an Queer person always carries a certain degree of risk. It is our actual world as we navigate a world with 60+ countries criminalizing our relationships and a rise in anti-LGBTQ+ legislation around the world. We encourage our traveling community to know the laws and cultural challenges they may face in any destination they pick to visit for Pride and beyond. Don't be scared of the earth, but always research information specific to your travels. Enjoy Pride, be guarded, and look out for each other!
The LGBTQ+ rights movement has made tremendous strides over the past few decades and much of the progress in visibility is thanks in part to gay pride parades and marches that have taken place in cities around the world.
The global landscape for Queer rights, protections and acceptance varies tremendously by location, with some destinations attracting millions of visitors to their events like Madrid Homosexual Pride, Sao Paulo Gay Pride or San Francisco Queer Pride, while more than 70 other countries have laws that allow discrimination or persecution of LGBTQ+ people.

The Sitges event calendar kicks off in late February with Sitges Carnival. National Geographic recently quoted Sitges Carnival as being one of the Top 10 Carnivals in the world, and we agree! More than 300,000 people visit Sitges during this week long event. If there is one thing not to overlook, its the closing ceremony – the death of the king! Each year it gets more and more spectacular with concerts, shows and of course Sitges famous over the top theatrics.
The season continues with the Vintage Automobile rally, an event which takes place in Rally and heralds the arrival of the Spring season in Sitges. The cars, all of them pre 1924, make their way from Barcelona to Sitges via the coast thoroughfare. The best vantage show to see the cars as they drive past is on Psg Ribera, right on the seafront.
Depending on when Carnival begins and ends, Easter is normally the end of March or early April. The Sitges tapas festival takes place during this time and is a great way to trial this unique Spanish cuisine. More than 30 unlike restaurants participate and you can try delicious tapas and a cool beer for just under EUR 3.
