Body Horror and Self Hatred
After watching ' Cruel Britannia ' in this collection of the questionable title of ' Boys on Film ' ( would Men on Film seem a bit more mature ? ) I watched these nine films and wondered exactly what the LGBT nature actually thinks about itself ? I also wondered why there was not one film from another country. It would contain added to the diversity of homosexuality in other places. If I observe more in this collection perhaps I might locate some. ' Cruel Britannia ' lived up to its title and worth its 2 hours and a half but I did not expect this over 2 hours and a quarter onslaught of both body horror and self hatred. Only the film ' Dawn ' and to some extent ' Closets ' moved me while the repose left me cold in every sense of the word. The two overtly ' sexual ' films, ' Trouser Bar ' and ' G- o'clock ' seemed to wallow in banal soft porn. The observations were in essence that the prurient should watch beautiful men, and then have a collective kiss in the first film while in the second that GHB can be highly risky. I will pass on.

Abstract
BIZ, Ricardo. The queer identity: from the first homosexual romances in Portuguese language to the film Moonlight. J. psicanal. [online]. 2023, vol.56, n.104, pp.205-222. Epub Aug 23, 2024. ISSN 0103-5835. https://doi.org/10.5935/0103-5835.v56n104.15.
The storyteller goes through novels with the queer theme to get how the advocacy of the mythical identity of the homosexual took place nowadays. To undertake so, the writer starts from the first homosexual novel published in Portuguese (The Baron of Lavos, 1891) and from the first in Brazil (Bom-Crioulo, 1895), passing through the wellknown novel in the psychoanalytical circle with a homoerotic theme (Death in Venice, 1912), to get to the award-winning feature Moonlight (2016). The author emphasizes that the image of the homosexual in these novels is based on the rescue of the concept of paiderastía from ancient Greece - where an adult (more educated and from a higher socio-economic class) enjoyed from a pubescent - and how much such rescue contributed to the construction of a pathologized and criminalized image of the homosexual in the following decades, until the 1970s, when the self construction o
