You can read Drew’s side of the story right here. He’s wrong though.
About a half hour ago I was smoking a cigarette with a buddy (who gifted me some a birthday present in the form of scrumptious Kellogg’s Fruit Snacks, mixed berry flavor–thanks Thomas!). We started talking about the music we’d listened to this weekend, and I told him how I’d finally gotten into Foxygen. I had initially decided to avoid this band like H1N1, because they literally have the worst band name I’ve ever heard.
When I got back inside, I casually asked the Noisey editorial staff if they were into Foxygen or not, which will go down as my biggest be sorry of the day. The second I said the band’s name, the entire staff made that weird Tim Allen “errryoup?” sound and started berating me on how awful Foxygen is. All of a sudden I felt fond Bertolt Brecht in front of the House Committee on Un-American Activities. So I decided to tackle off against Drew Millard, who sits across from me and, I should note, wears backwards tie-dyed hats and Trukfit, which immediately invalidates anything he might say about phenomena on planet earth.
Now keep in mind:
We love keeping our ear to land when it comes to new tune and up and coming artists. Our HQ in Los Angeles gives us ample opportunity to catch shows and discover amazing artists of all genres. We came across the magical tunes of Globelamp, at her Los Globos show on 11/22.
Globelamp is the moniker for songwriter Elizabeth Fey, who up until now is probably best famous for being a touring member of indie band Foxygen. Her psychedelic infused folk music is reminiscent of the type of honest, intense songwriting to approach out of the 60’s and 70’s, and her stripped down set had the crowd completely enthralled.
We were capable to sit down with Ms. Fey before her reveal and talk about a variety of subjects, from Little Adult novels to subliminal messages in pop music!
EARPEACE: How prolonged have you been writing music?
Elizabeth: Probably fond, 3 years. I’ve been playing tune longer but writing music..probably 3 years.
EARPEACE: Tell us about your future plans; are you planning on releasing an album?
Elizabeth: Hopefully next year. I don’t comprehend exactly the go out but my plans are just to finish…I have a lot of stuff recorded it’s just not mixed so I need to finish doing that, but y

When Smash Hits interviewed Mick Jagger in February 1985, the hugely successful pop mag headlined the article thus: "Mick Jagger: If You Don’t Know Who This Bloke Is, Demand Your Parents…" The subhead continues, "But isn’t he over the hill? And does he know anything about modern music? And what’s he like anyway?"
It seems inconceivable now that any teenager would be anything but fully informed as to exactly who Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones are. In recent years, the narrative that the 60s were the Triumph And Pinnacle Of Western Musical Invention has been rammed down our throats by the baby boomers who stole our jobs and our houses. Still the excellent arse of that decade, bloated by endlessly repeated yarn and myth, suffocates us all.
Riding in under the radar down the curve of its buttock are 100% retro duo Foxygen, who originate from LA, are inspired by The Rolling Stones to the point of existence copyists and have appalling taste in trousers. This, their second album, is bizarrely garnering positive notices on both sides of the Atlantic despite sounding like a demo tape for a band who’d have been considered too risible to ma
